Abstract:

The leafhoppers associated with graminaceous crops, viz., rice (Oryza sativa L.), sorghum (Sorghum vulgare Pers.), maize (Zea mays L.), finger millet ('ragi'; Eleusine coracana (L.)), pearl millet ('bajra'; Pennisetum typhoides S. & H.), proso millet ('variga'; Panicum miliaceum L.) and sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) from different areas of Andhra Pradesh were collected and identified. In all, 37 species belonging to 17 genera were identified from different graminaceous ecosystems. An illustrated key for identifying these species has been provided.
