Abstract:

Bumizana deccani n. sp. (from Karnataka [India], Gujarat [Pakistan] and Rajasthan), Bumizana khasiana n. sp. (from Meghalaya: Shilong), an unnamed species of Bunizana DISTANT (from West Bengal: Teesta) and Chloropelix indica n. sp. (from India: Rajasthan and Pakistan: Karachi) are described and illustrated. B. deccani is the smallest known species of Bumizana and differs from B. ruberosa PRUTHI in having more acutely pointed vertex. B. khasiana differs from B. dharwarensis VIRAKTAMATH in having labrum broad at apex and in more deeply bifid apex of aedeagus. Chloropelix indica lacks aedeagal processes present in the only other known species, C. canariensis LINDBERG. The relationships among the genera Bumizana, Chloropelix LINDBERG, and Paradorydium KIRKALDY are discussed and it is shown that Chloropelix is closer to Bumizana and Paradorydium than to Eupelix GERMAR. A key to the known species of Bumizana is also given.
