Abstract:

Leofa DISTANT, a deltocephaline genus endemic to Indian subcontinent is revised with description of four new species namely, L. truncata n. sp. (from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu), L. neela n. sp. (from Karnataka), L. naga n. sp. (from Karnatake, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi) and L. robusta n. sp. (from Karnataka, Gujarat). L. affinis DISTANT, L. sanguinalis DISTANT, L. unicolor DISTANT, L. pedestris DISTANT and L. parwala PRUTHI are placed as junior synonyms of L. mysorensis DISTANT (syn. n.). All the taxa are redescribed and a key to the identification of the species is included. Lectotype designations are made for L. mysorensis, affinis, unicolor, sanguinalis and pedestris. The genus is related to Prasutagus DISTANT and the fore wing venation in macropterous forms, which are very rare, is similar to that in Nephotettix MATSUMURA and Exitianus BALL.
